Five years ago, the annually renewed License Agreement we had with the City of Dallas Parks Department since the 1970's to operate as a sailing club on White Rock Lake expired.
CSC leadership in past Commodore Forest Atkins and members Mike Rist, and Red Dog Jones met with and corresponded with the City numerous times to negotiate new terms or renew the current agreement. This effort continued on with Commodores Heidi Gough and Steve Benenson and with the current Board.
The patience, perseverance, and effort finally paid off as the City of Dallas Parks Board issued an executed License Agreement on December 23 for the Corinthian Sailing Club, taking us through April 30, 2022. The terms of the agreement are the same as our old one and the City has vowed to work on a new long-term agreement in the new year. We are seeking a long-term agreement that provides stability and assurances that we can operate and be in good standing for years to come.
